Leather print, edition of 10
30 x 40 cms (framed)
This print is based on a drawing of a Brazilian architect I met while at Central St
I was born and grew up in Leeds, graduated from Central St Martins, and now live and work in London. I love drawing people from life, printing with leather and wood, and experimenting with alternative processes such as cyanotype. Capturing the essence of a person through drawing is very rewarding, and the best drawings always seem to come when I draw quickly, don’t look at the paper, or perhaps with my eyes closed. Favourite drawings are translated into print.
I am also fond of trees, and use wood, bark, leather and richly-coloured inks to make unique prints of them, rich in naturally fluid lines, shapes and textural details. Cyanotype is also a great way to make unique prints, ideal for experimenting and combining natural forms and the hand made with the photographic.
